Professional Statement
I became a teacher so that I can help students understand complex topics and I hope to make it relative to their lives. I had an amazing Chemistry teacher in high school and because of him I thought Chemistry at Michigan State University was not as difficult as others thought. I want to be able to give the knowledge and preparation to the students in my class and like I was given from my high school chemistry teacher. I have my teaching certificate for DC (Chemistry) and EX (Mathematics). If you have any questions or comments for me feel free to Start a topic and I will respond in a timely manner. Personal Statement
I grew up in Baraga, MI, a town in the Upper Peninsula. My graduating class was 33, which is less than a tenth of the size of the graduating classes at Troy Athens where I teach Chemistry, Forensic Science, and Academic Collegiate Transition. I attended Michigan State University (GO GREEN!!) and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry. I am the Freshman Girls' Basketball Coach at Athens. I really enjoy teaching and coaching, because you get to see different sides of people when they are students compared to when they are competing. I also have a summer job working at a golf course.
In my free time I enjoy playing golf, basketball, softball, tennis, volleyball, and football. I also enjoy doing outdoor activities, like waterskiing, white water rafting, hiking, snowmobiling, downhill skiing, snowshoeing, running, and biking.
My family is very important to me. My family includes a fiancee (wife as of 10/12/13), two loving parents, two older brothers, a sister-in-law, and two nieces.
